DISCRIMINATION HAS NO PLACE HERE!
Our company became aware of a situation in Florida involving a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) supervisor who has been accused of discriminatory actions. FEMA has acknowledged that this situation did occur.
The FEMA supervisor was a reservist that was activated to provide relief assistance to Florida residents impacted by the recent hurricanes. This individual was also employed by Avanath. While these actions occurred during their leave, an investigation was immediately conducted and Avanath has terminated this individual’s employment.
A core value of Avanath is that discrimination of ANY type is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We believe that every American is entitled to fairness in housing, including all benefits that they are eligible to receive.
Our thoughts are with those who may have been affected. The state of Florida is home to nearly 70 Avanath employees and more than 1,500 Avanath residences, and we are active partners with local housing authorities and agencies.
We are committed to the state of Florida, and to equity and access for every American.
